What we delivered: Full show production, set fabrication, lighting and content integration for the 20th anniversary awards

For the 20th anniversary of the WPC Awards, we delivered the full production for the sixth consecutive year. The brief called for a bold, immersive visual experience to mark the milestone and energise the audience from the first moment.

The Challenge

A milestone awards show built around a single brand ident, four concentric rings, that had to run through set, lighting, content and table centres as one synchronised whole, opening on a moment that set the tone for the night.

The Get-In & Install

The concept centred on four concentric rings woven into every element of the show. Our set team fabricated a giant steel ring structure wrapped in frosted acrylic and PixNet LED tape, giving pixel-level control tied into the opening video.

Stage and set. A three-tier circular stage with a central ring feature mirrored the brand ident, the PixNet tape extending effects from the video content into the physical space for real depth and movement.

Table centrepieces. Using Astera AX3 Lightdrop fixtures in custom 3D-printed shells paired with CNC-cut acrylic rings, we created branded, illuminated table centres that carried the look across the room.

Content mapping. We pixel-mapped the PixNet strips in MadMapper so video content could play across the lighting grid, synchronising the sting with the lighting effects.

Show Days

With the visual assets prepped, the team moved into full show mode. The lighting was programmed on an Avolites Tiger Touch II, the opening sting timecoded to trigger cues and pre-visualised in Capture for accuracy.

Lighting design. Our senior LD programmed colour, motion and fixture effects to match the video, a tightly choreographed light show that elevated the opening moment.

System integration. QLab sent timecode to the lighting desk, video servers and PixNet playback so every element, from LED walls to table centres, responded in perfect sync.

Control. The show ran across multiple positions, Barco E2 on screens, MadMapper driving the PixNet visuals and QLab as master trigger, with our team coordinating across departments.

The Derig & Handover

The opening sequence drew praise from attendees and organisers alike, a standout moment that reflected the significance of the 20th anniversary.

In-house fabrication, pre-visualisation and timecoded programming are what let us build and run a show this integrated, and WPC's next chapter is already in discussion.
