The Brief
Client: Greene King
Venue: Hall 9, NEC Birmingham
Date: 1-3 July 2025
What we delivered: Full AV production, staging, lighting, audio and show-calling
Two conferences. Two audiences. One venue. Over 2,000 general managers from Greene King Pubs and Destination Brands, brought together across consecutive days in Hall 9 at the NEC, each division with its own full conference programme, drinks reception and awards dinner.
We delivered the full technical production: a 12-metre main stage, a flown L-Acoustics line array mapped for the room, a full lighting rig, digital wireless and comms, and show-calling across both days. All planned, built and run inside a single venue take-over.
A hall that size brings its own demands. Rigging plots, weight loading and truss calculations, power distribution per department, PA coverage mapping and staging design all had to be worked through in CAD long before the first flightcase arrived on site.

The Get-In & Rig
The build centred on a 12-metre carpeted main stage, structurally signed off, with a full lighting rig above it: Chauvet Ovation Fresnels, GeNetix ArtNet nodes and dimmers, all run from a ChamSys MQ500 stadium console, with an additional hired fixture package to cover the scale of the room.
Audio was a flown L-Acoustics KARA line array with SB18 and SB28 subs on LA8 amplification, plus 5XT and 12XT fills, mapped in Sound Vision for even coverage across a hall holding two thousand people.
Show Days
The room ran on a Yamaha QL5 with a Rio3224 stagebox, Sennheiser EW-DX digital wireless across bodypacks and handhelds, ten DPA headset mics and IEMs for the presenters and performers. With two full conference days, two drinks receptions and two awards dinners back to back, the rig had to reset and reconfigure between audiences without missing a beat.
We ran the Run of Show and show-called both days, keeping conference sessions, video, entertainment and awards moving to cue in front of two thousand delegates.
The Derig
When the second awards night closed, the whole rig came down. Line array, staging, lighting, control and comms were struck, packed and loaded out, clearing Hall 9 on schedule for the venue to reset.
Two conferences, two awards dinners and two thousand delegates inside one venue take-over is a serious technical undertaking, and delivering it cleanly from get-in to derig is exactly the kind of work we are built for.
